Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Inksmith (the "App") is operated by Appcakes Teknoloji Anonim Şirketi ("Appcakes", "we", "us"), a company established in the Republic of Türkiye. This policy explains what data the App collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. You can reach us any time at inksmith@appcakes.io.

2. Data we collect

Account data. An anonymous account is created automatically when you first open the App. If you connect with Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and (optionally private-relay) email address you choose to share.
Your answers in onboarding. The preferences you pick when you start — what you're here for, your age band, gender, tattoo experience, and favourite styles — so the App can order styles and suggestions around your taste. Every one of these is optional or has a "prefer not to say" option.
Designs and prompts. The descriptions you write, the styles and ink colour you choose, and the designs generated from them, along with what you pin and how you file it into collections.
Photos you submit to the AI. Photos you take or pick for a try-on preview or for a photo tool (for example a pet or portrait you want turned into a design, or a tattoo you want previewed as removed).
App activity. Your in-app settings, plus usage events (screens viewed, features used) collected through the analytics services listed below.
Purchase data. Your subscription or purchase status (not your payment details — payments are processed entirely by Apple).
Device data. Device model, OS version, language, app version, push token, and identifiers such as the identifier for vendor (IDFV) and, with your permission, the advertising identifier (IDFA).
Camera. With your permission, the App accesses your camera so you can preview a design on your own skin. The camera is only opened from the try-on screens.
Photos. With your permission, the App accesses the photos you select for try-on and the photo tools, and — if you allow it — saves finished designs and previews back to your photo library.
Content you create. Your tattoo designs, collections, pins, and try-on previews are stored with your account so they can be restored across sessions and devices.
Reports and moderation. If you report a design, we record which design you reported and the reason. Prompts and generated images are screened automatically for content that breaks our rules.
Support. If you email us or send in-app feedback, we receive the content of your message.

3. How we use your data

We use this data to generate the designs and previews you ask for, to operate the App and sync your content, to personalise the styles and ideas you are shown, to fix crashes and improve features, to understand aggregate usage, to keep the community free of content that breaks our rules, to send notifications you have allowed, to process subscriptions, and to show ads. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Services we rely on

The App uses a small set of established service providers, which process data on our behalf:

Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, crash reporting, analytics, and configuration.
Google (Gemini API) and OpenAI — generating tattoo designs and try-on previews from the prompts and photos you submit, and screening them for disallowed content. Your prompts and photos are sent to these providers only to produce the result you asked for.
Adapty — subscription management.
Amplitude and Mixpanel — product analytics.
Meta (Facebook SDK) — measuring the effectiveness of our ad campaigns.
OneSignal — push notifications.
Google AdMob — in-app advertising.

5. Advertising and tracking

The App shows ads served by Google AdMob. On first use, iOS asks for permission to track via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow tracking, the advertising identifier is used to show more relevant (personalized) ads; if you decline, you still see ads, but non-personalized ones. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

6. Designs you share with the community

Designs you generate are public by default: they can appear in Explore, where other people can see, pin, and remix them, and their pin count feeds the trending lists. You can set a design to private at any time from the design's screen, and you can delete a design to remove it from Explore. Public designs show the design itself and its prompt — never your email address, and no username or profile is exposed in this version of the App. Photos you submit for try-on and the previews made from them are never published; they stay with your account.

7. Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account (and all data associated with it) directly in the App's settings — deletion is immediate and permanent. You can also email us at inksmith@appcakes.io to request deletion.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. 9. Children

The App is rated 17+ and is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with reputable cloud providers (Google Cloud). No system is perfectly secure, but we limit collection to what the App needs to work.

11. International transfers

Our service providers may process data on servers located in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page; material changes will be indicated by updating the effective date above.
